Lucifer’s Child

Tripping on the hem of her abaya, sixteen-year-old Elle tumbles onto the front lines of an ancient war.

On her knees before the gates of the Angelic Citadel, Elle can follow the path chosen for her, and serve the Citadel, or surrender the promise of Heaven for an uncertain future.  Elle cowers on the steps of Lucifer’s Palace as the gates sever her from her family.

Immersed in a life of unimagined freedom, Elle watches the sky. Her new friends can tease all they want, but she knows her rebellion will be punished. The Angels will come. They will force her into servitude.

Except the Citadel isn’t the only danger. In this unruly world, the lines between good and evil blur. Everyone she meets plays a role in the coming war. Even the boy she can’t stop thinking about, her first crush, might be the son of the literal devil.

To survive the final battle of a divine war, Elle must conquer her fear of Angels, and decide whether to hide as she’s been taught, or throw off her veils and fight.
